We are an Electrical Contracting and Integration firm seeking an experienced Lighting Design professional with a fun positive attitude to join our growing team!

The purpose of this position is to act as an ambassador for LIGHTWORKS with the A|D Community and create qualified leads for our Design | Build services through Lighting Design and Specification.

You will have the opportunity to work on High End residential properties from downtown Hi-Rise to water front La Jolla & Del Mar to Fairbanks Ranch and Rancho Santa Fe with the best builders and design professionals in San Diego. We also do select boutique commercial projects such as restaurant, retail and office environments.

• Initial lead generated from Architect, Builder or Interior Designer
• Discovery meeting with client to present LIGHTWORKS and understand client needs for the project
• Proposal for Design & Specification services written and presented
• Discovery & Budgeting
• Electrical / Lighting & Lighting Control budget established
• Design and specification
• Lighting control design
• Documentation
• Construction liaison as necessary

• Manage, direct & mentor support staff for CAD Documentation and specification work
• Provide A|D Support through regular visits to our design partners. Help support their practices by introducing new products and applications as well as, host lunch and learns. Promote paid design & specification services with our design partners.
• Visit Jobsites to verify installations and solve issues
• Interact with Field Employees as well as General Contractors and Superintendents
• Have other duties as assigned.

• Creative and possess a keen eye for design & architecture

• Proficiency in AutoCAD & Revit
• Proficiency in Sketchup
• Proficiency in AGI
  32 / Dialux
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite:
  In Design, Illustrator, Photo Shop
• Proficiency in MS Office Outlook Word & Excel
• Proficiency in Google Drive programs.
• Well organized, able to work collaboratively, can multi-task, strong communicator and self‑motivated under minimal supervision
• Enjoy education and the mentoring of others in your team
• Have 3 years minimum experience as a Lighting Designer (High End Residential focus preferred)
• Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Interior Design, Lighting Design, and/or Architecture (Preferred but not required)
• Experienced with professionally presenting solutions to customers
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
• Physically able to walk construction sites and climb 5’ ladder
• Able to stand for 3 hrs
• Can Lift 40 lbs
• Have reliable transportation – Mileage for field work will be reimbursed

This Position will be a salaried position with benefits. Compensation commensurate to experience

General hours for this position are 7:00am to 4:00pm M – F with 1 to 2 client evening appointments per month
