Job Summary

Delawie, a Leo

A. Daly Studio, is seeking an experienced Architect III Position to join our team to work on-site in our San Diego, Calif. office. This role involves high-level project management duties from project inception through construction administration phases. The successful candidates must be a team player who is well organized, detail oriented, focused, design driven, accurate, and committed to continuous improvement. In particular, we are seeking individuals that support the mission and culture of the firm by demonstrating:

  • leadership and eagerness to mentor junior staff members.
  • ability to work under the direction of firm Principal(s) and perform at a high level with limited oversight
Responsibilities
  • Manage projects of all sizes and levels of complexity and provides project team leadership.
  • Assist in designing, documenting, and coordinating projects, from conceptualization through development and execution in the field.
  • Follow projects from inception through construction to maintain design quality and intent.
  • Monitor and manage project staff work loads and project budgets.
  • Support and assist other architectural technical staff in a team environment.
Qualifications
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in design/project management, with a focus on design and construction documents on a wide range of project types including hospitality, science & technology, corporate, industrial, federal, and educational projects.
  • Leadership experience, including managing client expectations, multi-disciplinary teams, and commitment to meeting scope/schedule/budget requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of the architectural planning and design process, construction documentation, construction administration and code requirements
  • Proficiency with Revit and BIM Collaborate Pro is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketch Up Modeling, MS Office, MS Project, and preparation of presentation materials.
  • Effective verbal and graphic communication, organizational and collaborative skills.
  • Experience working with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) for project requirements and permitting.
  • Experience working directly with clients.
