Job Description
We are seeking a Lead Architect to drive design excellence and technical innovation across diverse project types. This role requires leadership in all phases of design—from concept through construction administration—while ensuring compliance with building codes and regulatory standards. The Lead Architect will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage complex priorities, and serve as the primary architectural contact for clients, internal teams, and construction partners.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute all phases of design: programming, planning, concept development, detailed design, and construction administration.
- Produce advanced design documentation, including code analyses, life safety plans, floor plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, and specifications for large‑scale projects.
- Develop studies, presentations, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Apply International Building Code and other regulatory requirements throughout project delivery.
- Coordinate closely with engineering and construction teams to ensure constructible, integrated designs.
- Oversee quality reviews, coordination meetings, and technical verification of design documents.
- Support construction activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and progress reporting.
- Assist project managers with resource planning, budgeting, scheduling, and deliverable quality.
- Mentor architectural staff and act as Architect of Record for assigned projects.
- Resolve complex design, code, and construction challenges.
Minimum Qualifications
- Accredited professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch, M.Arch, or
D.Arch) or international equivalent. - Architectural license in good standing and NCARB certification.
- 15+ years of professional experience in an AEC firm.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Deep knowledge of International Building Codes, OSHA regulations, and ADA standards.
- Strong leadership and client‑focused approach.
- Ability to travel moderately for projects or training.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Successful track record of cross‑discipline project coordination.
- LEED, WELL, or similar sustainability accreditation.
- Experience in CRB’s core markets: R&D labs, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food & nutrition, consumer products, and international projects.
