The position is for a full-time Surgical Retina Ophthalmologist at Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group in San Diego, requiring board certification and fellowship in surgical retina. The role includes providing surgical and medical retina care, performing office-based procedures, sharing on‑call duties, and benefiting from a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits in a large, multi‑specialty group.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive surgical and medical retina care
- Perform office‑based procedures and minor surgeries
- Administer intravitreal injections
- Share after‑hours call with 2 other surgical retina physicians
- Maintain patient load of 25‑30 patients per clinic day
- Board‑eligible/board‑certified physician in Ophthalmology
- Completion of a Surgical Retina Fellowship
- Comfortable administering intravitreal injections
- Will be required to become board certified within first two years if fellow
- Salary Range: $330K‑$600K+ (includes productivity/bonuses)
- 4‑day workweek schedule: 50% East County; 50% South Bay
- Average patient load is 25‑30 patients per clinic day
- Office‑based surgery/minor procedures
- Practice will be surgical retina and medical retina patients
- After hours call is shared with 2 other surgical retina physicians
- Competitive salary plus sign‑on bonus and full comprehensive benefits package
- Shareholder track – Eligible for shareholder after 2nd year of employment
- Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Eligible
