About the Role

After-School Cooking Instructor at iCook After School – an innovative educational company that offers a fun, hands‑on cooking and nutrition program for children ages K‑4. The program aims to enrich children’s lives by teaching them to love food, learn healthy cooking techniques, and explore different cultures through cuisine.

Responsibilities
  • Lead after‑school cooking classes for elementary students (K‑4), inspiring excitement about new recipes, foods, and cultures.
  • Teach lesson plans covering basics of nutrition and healthy eating in a fun, engaging manner.
  • Introduce children to cutting, measuring, food safety, table manners, and other curriculum concepts.
  • Purchase groceries for each class based on provided recipes and receive reimbursement.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with large groups of children (school setting, summer camp, etc.).
  • Enthusiastic about teaching, cooking, and nutrition.
  • Effective classroom management skills.
  • Energetic personality capable of keeping students engaged.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and access to reliable transportation.
Session Details
  • Session Dates:
    Early January – April 2026
  • Class Days:
    Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays
  • Class Time: 3:00–4:00 PM
  • Pay Rate: $60 per class with a co‑instructor / $80 per class solo (includes 1 hour class time, prep, and cleanup).
  • School Partnership:
    Lemon Grove Unified School District – San Altos, Mt. Vernon, Monterey Heights
Training & Support

We provide comprehensive training materials, including the full curriculum, step‑by‑step lesson videos, and all classroom supplies. Instructors receive ongoing support from Program Coordinators throughout the session.

Continuing Opportunities

After the winter session ends, instructors may have the option to continue with potential spring and summer sessions.
