The League of Amazing Programmers is a non‑profit 501(c)(3) after‑school institution that teaches Java to kids in grades 5 through 12. Founded to fill the gap in computer science education, the League teaches students to code across San Diego County, inspiring them from a young age to pursue technology careers. Our curriculum culminates in preparation for the Oracle Professional Certification Exam, giving students a competitive edge.
We believe that learning to code boosts critical thinking and confidence in all learners.
The League specifically strives to reach more girls and underserved youth, ensuring that children from all backgrounds can acquire the skills to join the workforce of the 21st century.
Become a Coding MentorInspire the next generation of young coders—no advanced programming experience required! The League is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to mentor students in San Diego. All you need is a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and 1 hour a week to make a real difference.
As a mentor, you’ll guide students through fun, hands‑on coding lessons in small groups. We provide the curriculum and training—you bring the encouragement. Coding languages include block coding, Python, and Java. Sessions are in‑person and locate at varied venues throughout San Diego.
