St. Augustine High School is a Catholic high school located at 3266 Nutmeg St., San Diego, CA 92104. It is accepting applications for two ENGLISH LANGUAGE INSTRUCTORS for the  school year: one position for English 10 and the other a blend of AP English Language and traditional English Language studies.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: February 15, 2026. Interviews will be scheduled as applications are being accepted.

• Teach high school English and Advanced Placement English Language.
• Provide normal supervisory duties and participate in faculty and related meetings as may be required.
• Develop positive communication with staff, students, administration and community.
• Provide the appropriate learning atmosphere and activities designed to maximize student competencies and skills for intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth.
• Be a Christian role model for students and comply with the educational philosophy of St. Augustine High School.

• Possesses a degree from an accredited four-year institution with a major or strong minor in English and the ability to teach at the high school level.
• Has knowledge of the educational materials and methods for teaching English at the secondary level.
• An expertise in teaching writing to the high school learner.
• Demonstrates a personal commitment to the philosophy of a Catholic education.
• Secondary teaching credential and/or Master’s degree desired.
• Experience Teaching Advanced Placement English Language or Literature.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to remain in an office at a computer workstation and access information from a computer and use a telephone. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the school, as well as maneuver throughout the school facility to attend meetings, briefings, and other work-related events. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and county-wide locations to attend meetings or events.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
