Overview

St. Augustine High School is accepting applications for two ENGLISH LANGUAGE INSTRUCTORS for the  school year. One position is English 10 and the other is a blend of AP English Language and traditional English Language studies.

• Teach high school English and Advanced Placement English Language.
• Provide normal supervisory duties and participate in faculty and related meetings as may be required.
• Develop positive communication with staff, students, administration and community.
• Provide the appropriate learning atmosphere and activities designed to maximize student competencies and skills for intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth.
• Be a Christian role model for students and comply with the educational philosophy of St. Augustine High School.

• Possesses a degree from an accredited four-year institution with a major or strong minor in English and the ability to teach at the high school level.
• Has knowledge of the educational materials and methods for teaching English at the secondary level.
• An expertise in teaching writing to the high school learner.
• Demonstrates a personal commitment to the philosophy of a Catholic education.
• Secondary teaching credential and/or Master’s degree desired.
• Experience teaching Advanced Placement English Language or Literature.
