Job OverviewThe Elevator Support Unit seeks a trainer to develop and deliver technical training on electro‑hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems for naval carriers.
Responsibilities- Design and develop shipboard training for all personnel via technical references (Tech Manual, blueprints, drawings).
- Develop tests, visual aids, and criteria for evaluating training effectiveness.
- Communicate with leadership and build future relationships.
- Identify developmental needs and prepare assignments.
- Develop and possibly implement e‑learning and virtual reality systems.
- Utilize student guides and other training aids aboard a U.S. carrier.
- 6 years relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 4 years relevant experience with a master’s degree; or high school diploma and 10 years relevant experience.
- Knowledge of training principles, concepts, and practices.
- Advanced knowledge of shipboard aircraft and weapons elevator electro‑hydraulic systems, general knowledge of advanced weapons elevator systems, and vertical package conveyor systems.
- Hands‑on experience and/or working knowledge of shipboard mechanical systems.
- Experience communicating with government or related customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to carry up to 50 lbs of student guides and other training aids aboard a U.S. carrier.
- Must be able to travel.
- Must obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Must obtain and maintain base access credentials.
- Naval Master Training Specialist preferred.
- Current, valid DoD confidential clearance or higher.
- Hands‑on experience with shipboard mechanical and/or pneumatic systems.
May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
