POSTION OVERVIEW
The Project Engineer minimum workload commitment would be 8 hours every two weeks (i.e. 4 hours per week average). There would be potential for significantly more hours depending on Project Engineer’s interest/availability and Reindel Engineering project backlog. Schedule would be flexible to work around Project Engineer’s other job and/or personal obligations, with the understanding that the minimum workload commitment would be met.
The Project Engineer would provide support on wood-frame residential projects, including custom estates and multi-story affordable housing projects. The remote role would comprise of mentorship and a supportive environment that would further develop the Project Engineer’s professional engineering skills.
- Coordinate work with the Principal Engineer remotely via file transfer, emails, and video calls.
- Perform structural analysis and design of primarily wood-frame buildings.
- Develop 3D structural analysis models (combined wood and steel)
- Design foundations, framing, and connections.
- Compile structural calculation packages.
- Assist in the production of structural drawings.
- Ability to estimate time necessary to complete tasks and delivery dates.
- Ability to work competently and independently without supervision.
- Maintain a professional representation of the company
- Bachelor of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
- Minimum of two years work experience on wood-frame projects at California-based structural design firm(s).
- California P.E. Civil license or E.I.T. with completion of P.E. national exam (signing/stamping will not be required).
- Computer program knowledge in:
Excel, Bluebeam, and one of the following: RISA / SAP
2000 / RAM Elements. - Preferred (but not required) working knowledge in:
Revit. - Desire to contribute to the company and the ability to effectively collaborate in a small, team-based organization.
- Strong organization skills; effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to provide his/her own U.S.
-based workplace with computer and videocall set-up. - Ability to download and manage necessary software in coordination with team.
- Ability to manage and secure project files and sensitive information.
