About

The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Project Controls Manager to support the successful execution of late-stage renewable energy projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound industry knowledge, superior communications, and detail-oriented organizational skills. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining project control systems that ensure cost, schedule, and performance targets are met across a portfolio of solar and energy storage projects.

This position reports to the Director, Project Controls and works closely with multiple Project Managers, treating them as internal customers.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
  • Support the organization in ensuring that projects are completed on time and within the specified budget by providing timely reports and analytics that support innovative management of projects and portfolio analysis.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using tools such as Sitetracker, Primavera P6, and MS Project.
  • Integrate PEC Contractor Schedules into a “Master Schedule” in Primavera P6 / Oracle Primavera Cloud.
  • Support project managers’ timely updates of cost forecasts and schedules on a regular cadence, including identifying activities for actualization and re-forecasting outdated activities.
  • Track and analyze project costs, forecasts, and performance metrics against baseline (Annual Operating Plan) budgets and schedules.
  • Support project managers with variance reporting, and trend identification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely data flow.
  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders, providing timely and accurate updates for project schedules and cash flows.
  • Assist in risk management by identifying schedule and cost risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Support change control processes, including cost and schedule impact assessments.
Required Skills And Qualifications
  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years’ experience in utility-scale renewable energy development
  • 4+ years’ experience in scheduling and cost analysis
  • Experience with Sitetracker, Primavera P6, MS teams, or similar software.
  • Highly proficient in Primavera P6 or Oracle Primavera Cloud
  • Highly proficient in MS Office Suite (specifically Excel and Power Point)
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative environment and working across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in gathering, compiling, and analyzing data from multiple sources
  • Experience with contract cost management, forecasting, cash flows, and project budget controls.
  • Experience supporting a broad base of internal customers and building strong relationships across teams.
  • Ability to learn; self-motivated
  • Functions effectively in a time-sensitive setting of rapid change and conflicting demands and is capable of balancing multiple competing priorities
  • Professional written & verbal communication skills.
  • Professional, methodical problem-solving skills
  • Experience in supporting capital in pre-construction or construction projects (ideally in the utility energy space).
NICE TO HAVES
  • Understanding of Earned Value Terminology
  • PMP or similar project management certification
  • Demonstrated success developing, implementing, and/or improving standard processes across a portfolio of projects
