PositionDescription
As a Senior Automation Systems Engineer, you will lead and participate in the design of automation & robotics systems to solve a variety of interesting problems. You will coordinate and specify deliverables from engineers of other disciplines, mentor junior engineers, guide project schedules, and develop associated tools for testing and validation. Your technical leadership and cross‑discipline collaboration will be critical.
Responsibilities- Lead systems‑level architecture development.
- Develop algorithms for motion control, from high‑level motion planning to low‑level feedback control.
- Program control systems for in‑product and larger industrial systems.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide project schedules.
- Develop tools for testing and validation of product performance.
- Collaborate with cross‑discipline teams (EE, ME, FW/SW and Systems Engineers).
- Work through the product lifecycle: design, implementation, verification.
- Design and execute design acceptance criteria.
- Interface with customers in person, via teleconferences and written communications.
- 7+ years of applicable experience.
- Design experience in industrial automation, including vision systems and industrial robots.
- Excellent organization and analytical skills with attention to detail. Ability to prioritise and plan effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of motion system component selection, including motors and sensors.
- Experience with PCL programming, Python.
- Basic understanding of electromechanical systems: mechanism, electrical circuits, control systems & programming.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited four‑year university.
- Ability and willingness to learn new technical skills.
- Ethical and honest in every part of the job.
- C++ or C#.
- Understanding of PCBA design concepts.
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bit Bucket).
- Advanced control design.
- Base salary range: $140K – $170K.
