Overview
Network Engineer plays a critical role in supporting DoD contracts and Joint Mission Integration and Experimentation (JMIE) infrastructure by providing expertise in network architecture and transport engineering. Partnering directly with customers, the engineer plans, designs, implements, and sustains secure communications and transport solutions that enable reliable data exchange across classified facilities and cloud environments. The role involves installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network equipment;
monitoring system performance; and applying DoD Information Assurance policies. In addition, the engineer maintains a comprehensive library of engineering tools, produces detailed documentation and tutorials, and consistently applies leading‑edge standards and best practices to ensure a robust, compliant, and high‑performance networking environment.
Job Duties
- Design and implement network solutions based on organizational needs and best practices.
- Configure and maintain network devices and services (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless access points).
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics to resolve complex network issues.
- Monitor network performance, analyze traffic, and optimize for efficiency and security.
- Maintain and update network documentation, diagrams, and procedural guides.
- Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders on network projects and upgrades.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and organizational policies.

- Five (5) or more years of experience with implementation and understanding of Engineering principles in a professional environment
- Five (5) or more years of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of network architectures
- BS STEM Degree Preferred
- IAT LV III Required
- IT Operating System Certification (i.e. LINUX, Microsoft, etc) Required
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Required
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Preferred
