We are passionate about the industry, and passionate about providing engineering consulting services across a wide range of engineering disciplines.
Your Impact- Serve as design staff for drainage, stormwater, ecosystem restoration, water and wastewater projects.
- Perform professional water resources engineering work relating to water supply/quality/management, stormwater facilities, culverts, hydrology, open channel hydraulics, bridge hydraulics, floodplain modeling/mapping, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, canal development, river/stream/habitat restoration and fish passage, waste disposal, pollution control and treatment.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support water, wastewater and drainage infrastructure design projects.
- Collect, compile, and analyze data from the physical work site, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, subsurface utility information, maps, geotechnical data, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations that explain research and findings to improve, prevent, control, restore, or address design and/or construction issues or problems.
- Work as an individual or as part of a cross‑discipline team of engineers, planners, and scientific professionals to execute project work.
- Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, accurate reports, sketches, calculations, and illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses.
- Mentor early‑career water resource engineers and/or interns to provide guidance in the preparation of technical analyses, technical reports and construction plans.
- Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, statistical analysis, and reporting.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a focus in Water Resources or closely related discipline.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant post‑education experience in water resources engineering.
- Engineer in Training Certification.
- Knowledge of Stormwater Management, Drainage, Erosion and Sediment Control, Hydrology & Hydraulics Design, Watershed Studies, Floodplain Delineation, etc.
- Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.
- Basic experience with preparing permit applications (PS&Es) for oversight agencies to gain approval of water resources projects.
- Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non‑engineering audience.
- Effective self‑leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
