Senior Civil Engineer

We are hiring senior-level Transportation Engineers to support our project managers and group leaders in taking challenging transportation projects from concept to construction – from proposal research and development to feasibility analysis and environmental approval, and from preliminary engineering to final design, bidding, and construction support.

Under the guidance of the project managers and group leaders, you will provide direction and oversight on various civil engineering tasks, leading projects from initial concept to preliminary engineering and from final design through construction. You will lead engineering work and exercise independent judgment while working with a team of Assistant- and Associate-level engineers.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
• California Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain a reciprocal license within 6 months.
• 10+ years of transportation project experience after graduation
• CA driver’s license. Execute engineering tasks for the planning, design, and construction of transportation projects
• Oversee detailed roadway designs, design calculations, technical reports, and PS&E for transportation facilities
• Coordinate with internal disciplines, utility companies, sub-consultants, resource agencies, and clients

• Oversee project progress and budget/expenditures
• Perform quality control and establish BMPs for work products
• Direct and mentor engineering associates and assistant engineers, technicians, and interns in their work
• Support marketing and proposal efforts

• Success in delivery of PS&E bid packages for transportation projects
• Understanding of multi-disciplinary team coordination, compilation of design and construction documents, and local agency and Caltrans design standards and practices
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and transportation design software including Civil 3D, Micro Station, or AutoCAD
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to work in a team environment
• Commitment to delivering quality work products and superior service to clients
