Responsibilities
  • Exemplify the Petco Park Promise: CARE, CONNECT, EXCEED by welcoming all guests and exceeding expectations.
  • Embody the Padres Brand Essence:
    Fun, Community, Innovative, & Meaningful.
  • Serve as part of the community marketing “street team” to promote the Padres’ schedule, ticket sales, and marketing assets.
  • Assist with in‑ballpark pre‑game show production: check‑in, escort guests, field placement, and cues for people and props.
  • Perform on‑camera promotions and on‑stage programming, interacting with fans to enhance the ballpark atmosphere.
  • Coordinate all in‑game entertainment elements and execute the gameday show script.
  • Occasionally perform as costumed characters (e.g., PETCO’s Blue Mews or Red Ruff) and guide the mascot team.
  • Attend community events (fairs, festivals, non‑profit functions) to promote the Padres.
  • Stay informed about team performance, organizational news, and general baseball history.
Knowledge & Expertise
  • Consistent, punctual, reliable attendance.
  • Comfortable performing on camera before large crowds.
  • Bi‑lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Effective communication, friendly personality, poise, and confidence.
  • Strong collaborative teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of baseball.
  • Experience in performing arts, public speaking, entertainment, or production is preferred.
Required Criteria
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the start of employment.
  • Minimum physical requirements: ability to stand, walk, and/or run for extended periods during games and events.
  • Available to work during 75% of Padres home games and 75% of community & special events, including weekends, some midweek day games, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout San Diego County as needed.
  • Must successfully complete all pre‑employment requirements, including a background check.
Salary and Additional Compensation

Per California pay transparency law, the hourly rate is $21.14. Part‑time non‑union employees receive PTO, employee discounts, appreciation, and recognition opportunities.
