Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
Responsibilities- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control frameworks to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and present financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses for executive and board-level review.
- Partner closely with company leadership to develop budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Manage external audit processes and relationships with accounting firms, tax advisors, banks, and other financial partners.
- Implement scalable accounting systems and processes aligned with company growth and increasing complexity.
- Support strategic initiatives, including fundraising and financial due diligence for partnerships or acquisitions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, HR, and R&D to align financial practices with business needs.
- Along with the technical team, evaluate and implement key AI processes to automate repetitive accounting tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership in a Controller or Assistant Controller capacity.
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial systems implementation.
- Proven experience managing audits, establishing compliant accounting policies, and scaling processes for growth.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-growth environment.
- CPA
- Hands‑on experience with cost accounting and cost analysis for clinical diagnostic products
- Experience in life sciences, diagnostics, or technology industries.
- Prior experience in a venture‑backed, pre‑commercial or early‑revenue company.
- Familiarity with ERP implementation and system integration (e.g., Net Suite, Adaptive, or similar platforms).
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (MBA).
