Role overview
DUAL North America is seeking a Staff Accountant.
At DUAL, the Accounting team plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company’s overall financial health. The team ensures that transactions are processed correctly, records are organized, and reporting is completed in a timely and compliant manner.
In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain the general ledger and perform crucial financial activities such as month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliation, and compliance with company and legal financial guidelines. Role responsibilities
Work collaboratively across the accounting
team to support accurate and timely financial
operationsAssist with month-end, quarter-end, and year
- end closing processes, including preparation of
financial reports and balance sheet
reconciliationsMaintain and reconcile the general ledger for
multiple legal entitiesPrepare and support financial audits, including
carrier and tax audit documentationProcess and analyze payments for carriers,
inspection fees, commissions, and legal feesMonitor and follow up on past due receivables
to ensure timely collectionsRespond to billing inquiries from agents and
underwriting teams via email and phoneEnsure compliance with legal, regulatory, and
company accounting guidelinesPerform additional accounting tasks and
projects assigned
Key requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related area preferred, or an equivalent experience
3+ years of experience in an accounting department or with an insurance agency/company;
Open to a new graduate with an accounting degree, or in lieu of educationPrevious experience with insurance administration systems (particularly IMS) desirable
Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines
Excellent written, verbal and client-facing communication skills
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel (e.g., look‑ups and pivot tables).
Ability and willingness to learn new software and systems
Ability to follow policies and procedures with a commitment to ethical behavior
Accurate and self‑motivated with strong attention to detail
Ability to travel up to 10% as needed
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, with occasional movement in the office to access cabinets and equipment
