Tax Preparer

Description

We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis in Point Loma, California. This seasonal role involves assisting clients with individual tax filings while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities:

- Prepare and submit federal, state, and local tax returns for individual clients while adhering to applicable tax laws.

- Review financial records, including income statements and expense documentation, to ensure accuracy and completeness.

- Calculate tax liabilities or refunds, optimizing outcomes for clients based on their financial information.

- Provide support during tax audits, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

- Utilize Pro Series software for tax preparation tasks, with Quick Books Online and Desktop experience considered a valuable asset.

- Manage a high volume of tax returns, handling approximately 300 individual filings during the tax season.

- Communicate complex tax concepts in a clear manner to clients and offer guidance on their obligations.

- Stay informed on updates to tax laws and regulations to maintain accuracy in all filings.

Requirements - Demonstrated experience in preparing individual tax returns.

- Proficiency in using Pro Series software; familiarity with Quick Books Online and Desktop is preferred.

- Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

- Ability to analyze financial documents and ensure accurate reporting.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.

- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and explaining tax-related matters.

- Capacity to handle a high-volume workload efficiently during the peak tax season.
