Salary: $63.00‑84.49/hr DOE, based on experience and competency completion.
Preferred skills: proton therapy experience (not required), ARIA experience (preferred), AART certification required, BA preferred.
OverviewThe Staff Radiation Therapist administers therapeutic doses of ionizing radiation, uses advanced proton accelerator units, records and verifies treatment software, and simulates patients under the instruction of radiation oncologists. Duties include complex procedures such as IMPT, SRS, SBRT, FSRT, high‑dose radiotherapy, pediatric radiotherapy, and image‑guided localization.
Responsibilities- Schedule patients and coordinate treatment activities.
- Deliver treatments efficiently while ensuring patient satisfaction.
- Acquire digital portal images, verify patient positioning, and record all treatment parameters.
- Monitor patients for reactions, report to oncologist, resident, or nurse.
- Review charts to ensure compliance with QMP, perform periodic checks for documentation completeness.
- Provide daily quality assurance on treatment units.
- Assist in clinical instruction of new hires, PRN TT, and locums.
- Maintain patient scheduling, charting, billing, and documentation.
- Physical strength to assist or lift impaired patients from a wheelchair or stretcher.
- Physical strength to lift accessories up to 40 lbs and reach with equipment up to 5‑6 ft high.
- Adapt quickly to change and analyze & solve complex problems efficiently.
- Proton therapy radiation experience is a plus but not required.
- AART certification required.
- ARIA experience preferred.
- BA preferred.
