Orthopedic Technician job at Solomon Page . San Diego, CA.
Our healthcare client is looking for a talented Orthopedic Technician to add to their team. This position operates onsite in San Diego, CA.
- Hourly pay is $26-30/hr
- Appropriately fit patients with braces, both off the shelf and custom braces
- Instruct patients in proper fitting and usage of DME products
- Apply and remove casts and splints
- Instruct patient in proper cast care
- Review new / proposed braces for applicability to patient population and make meaningful recommendations to Physicians
- Maintain adequate inventory levels to accommodate usage
- Audit all DME invoices for accuracy
- Negotiate product pricing with vendors
- Obtain insurance authorization to dispense products as necessary
- Stay abreast of insurance company protocols for authorizations and dispensing
- Assist medical assistants with their duties, as needed
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast paced Orthopedic environment
- Ability to handle the demands of multiple providers
- Current CA state license
