Services include adult care, chronic disease management, pediatrics, comprehensive women’s care, dental, vision, case management, physical rehabilitation, speech therapy, vaccinations, behavioral health, substance use counseling and specialty services such as cardiology, podiatry, endocrinology, dermatology, among others.
Responsibilities- Accurately and thoroughly document audit results in a timely manner; update coding books and procedure manuals for coding staff.
- Accurately code records using ICD, HCPCS/CPT coding rules and guidelines within the department’s timeframe.
- Perform audits of coding and billing, and provider documentation, ensuring compliance with department, state, and federal rules. Review and analyze medical records and abstracted data to determine payment and code accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Provide regular and prompt feedback to staff, including providers and supervisors on compliance issues; communicate effectively with clinic staff concerning coding questions and research issues for resolution.
- Associate’s degree in Medical Record Technology, Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or closely related field required.
- At least 2 years of medical coding experience required.
- CPC Certification required.
- CPCO or CPMA certification required.
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certifications strongly preferred.
- Third‑party billing and reimbursement experience, specifically with Medi‑Cal, required.
- Travel between sites occasionally required; valid California driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
- Regular full‑time, Monday‑Friday 8 am‑5 pm.
- On‑site location: 100 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910.
