Sterile Processing Tech – Sterile Processing – Sharp Metro Campus – Evening Shift – Per Diem

Position Summary

Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) – The Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution; H.S. Diploma or Equivalent. Per Diem, Evening, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, 8-Hour shift. Hourly pay $28.74–$35.93–$40.24. Requires union membership within 31 days.

Ensure proper maintenance and distribution of disposable supplies and durable medical equipment for patient care.

• Communicate malfunctions and load issues; report to lead technician or supervisor; provide MSDS information; clear shift reports and logs.
• Complete initial competencies and ongoing assessments; apply patient care interventions.
• Document sterilizer load contents; apply labels; track loads; document biologic and vacuum testing; ensure accurate labeling.
• Disassemble multipart instruments; separate, reassemble trays; inspect for damaged instruments; load and operate washer sterilizer, sonic cleaners, steam, plasma, parasitic acid; quarantine implantables until review.
• Establish annual goals; maintain performance records; demonstrate self‑development and growth.
• Restock carts, prepare case carts for surgery; report low stock and request non‑stock items; manage sterilization supplies.
• Use resources cost‑effectively; anticipate surgical needs; accept additional assignments; complete duties within time frames.

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1 year experience in an acute care hospital, sterile processing, or surgery department; or completion of a sterile processing/central supply technician program.

• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) – The Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution.

• Thorough knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile techniques, general hospital supplies and equipment.

Collective Bargaining Agreement with SEIU-UHW; union membership required; internal and external candidates eligible.
