Working Hours: 8‑hour shifts, Sunday–Saturday, 20% per diem
Pay: $34.64 per hour (Hourly equivalent of $72,328 annually)

Under supervision, the Call Center Specialist is responsible for customer service, registration, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification. Typical duties include answering multi‑line incoming calls, completing online registration, scheduling appointments, and securing authorization for scheduled services. Operate CRT to gain and input information; other related duties as assigned.
Interviews patients via telephone to obtain demographic and financial information necessary to secure patient account. Verifies insurance eligibility for outpatient services on all Third‑Party Payers using automated eligibility systems. Operates EPIC system to input information and relays medical messages to patient/clinic staff. Advises patient of clinic deposit requirements based upon UCSD Medical Group Financial Policy. Other related duties may include ambulatory float assignments – front desk and call center.
Minimum Qualifications- Three (3) years of customer service experience.
- Experience with registration, appointment scheduling & insurance verification.
- Knowledge of third‑party payors including federal, state and private health plans.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to work between multiple systems during calls.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in an interactive environment and possess excellent customer service skills in person and over the phone.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, handle deadlines and manage conflicting demands with limited supervision.
- Proven problem‑solving ability and good judgment in assisting customers and ensuring expectations are met.
- One (1) year of EPIC & Cadence experience, or equivalent system.
- Call Center experience.
- Medical Assisting Experience.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.
Annual Full Pay Range: $72,328 – $72,328 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).
Hourly Equivalent: $34.64.
