This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday with the occasional Saturday. Hours will vary as needed. Located at Scripps Clinic in Rancho Bernardo. There are currently two openings:

* 11am-8pm

* 8:30am-5:30pm

What you'll do:

* This is a 1:1 position with a full time provider

* Administering vaccines to infants through adolescents

* Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures

* Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols

* Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment

* Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice

* Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person

* Collecting patient data in person and by phone

* Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review

* Administering medications specifically directed by the physician

* Scheduling of appointments and procedures

* Complete and accurate message taking

* Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction

* Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications

* Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

* Insurance verifications

Required Qualifications:

* Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman

* BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

* 1 year of experience working as Medical Assistant

* Pediatrics experience

* Experience with vaccine administration

Position Pay Range: $25.95-$32.56/hour
