Job Description:

Forward Slope Inc. currently has one (1) full-time opening for a Software Engineer III (Senior Software Engineer). This position is hybrid located in San Diego, CA and typically requires, on-site work of 3 days per week. This position has the option to work a 9/80 schedule, which is a compressed work schedule, with alternate Fridays off. Forward Slope, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic software engineer to provide modern software development and sustainment of full-stack web applications for the Department of Defense (DoD).

Day-to-day efforts include working with highly talented professionals and subject matter experts to support mission-critical software systems that provide US Navy warfighters with the tools and resources for successfully planning and executing missions.

Required Qualifications:

Currently hold an active US security clearance or be able to obtain one
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or physics
7+ years of demonstrated full-stack software development experience with:
Object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, Python, C#, C++)
UI development with modern web technologies (e.g., Node.js, React, Angular)
RDBMS database design (e.g., Postgre

SQL, Oracle DB, MySQL) and data access layer design patterns
REST and Pub-Sub (e.g. Kafka, Web Sockets) cloud-native microservices using standard structured data formats (e.g. JSON, XML)
Source Code Management (e.g., Git)
Containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
CI/CD automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Tekton)
OpenID Connect (OIDC) / OAuth 2.0
Microservice observability frameworks (e.g. Open Telemetry, Jaeger, Micrometer)
Software build dependency management principles and tools (e.g. Artifactory/Nexus, Maven/Gradle/Make)

Experience with Agile software development

Experience with enterprise software architecture

Software engineering experience with:
Automated testing (e.g., Selenium, Cypress)
Application Security analysis and vulnerability mitigation (e.g., Sonar Qube, Coverity, JFrog X-Ray, ZAP, Black Duck Software Risk Manager)

React Redux
Material UI React Components
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) (e.g. ArcGIS, Geo Server) data management and rendering
CompTIA Security+ Certification
Salary Range: $125,000-$175,000

Clearance Information:
Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information. Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL). In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must be a US Citizen and either currently possess this National Security eligibility or be able to complete the investigation application process with a favorable determination and maintain that eligibility throughout their employment.
