The Web, App, & E-Commerce Manager will oversee all aspects of San Diego Wave FC’s online shopping, mobile app, and official website operations, focusing on creating exceptional user experiences across , sandiegowavefc.store, and San Diego Wave FC mobile app. This role will develop and execute e-commerce strategies, optimize journeys, create custom landing pages and splash screens, maintain and upkeep all platforms with relevant news and products, and drive revenue through integrated campaigns and promotional efforts.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized self-starter with a thorough understanding of online platforms and customer UX/UI, and a proven track record of managing complex digital projects in a fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time role based in San Diego, California. Depending on education, skill set, and experience, the annual base salary range is $90,.
Job DescriptionRole responsibilities
- Accountable for driving year-over-year e-commerce revenue growth, improving conversion rates, and increasing engagement across the club’s website, online store, and mobile app.
- Own the long-term digital commerce and fan experience strategy across web, mobile app, and e-commerce, balancing near-term execution with multi-season planning and broader business goals.
- Define and evolve the end-to-end fan journey (discovery, engagement, purchase, retention) across all digital touchpoints.
- Own and operate the daily upkeep, overall vision, and uniformity of the club’s official website, team store, and mobile app, ensuring a cohesive, brand-aligned experience.
- Partner with CRM, marketing, merchandise, sales, and ticketing teams to leverage first-party fan data for personalization, segmentation, and targeted digital experiences.
- Use behavioral, transactional, and engagement data—along with web analytics and customer insights—to optimize merchandising, content placement, promotions, and on-site experiences.
- Monitor and report on key performance metrics (traffic, conversion, sales, engagement), ensuring platforms support data capture and attribution to inform continuous improvement.
- Lead the implementation and promotion of club tentpole moments and major product launches (merchandise and ticketing) across web and app, including landing pages and platform updates to drive traffic and revenue.
- Develop and execute ongoing promotional campaigns, including seasonal sales, exclusive drops, and team-specific merchandise, leveraging CRO strategies, A/B testing, and performance insights.
- Oversee day-to-day site operations, including navigation, product creation, merchandising, checkout flows, and maintenance, ensuring a high-quality, seamless, and frustration-free user experience.
- Lead mobile app push notification strategy, balancing promotion of key campaigns with an optimal fan experience.
- Develop web and app strategies for matchdays, prioritizing key information, storytelling, and promotions into a unique home matchday experience at Snapdragon Stadium.
- Manage web development agency partners and external vendors to optimize platforms, implement new features, and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Ensure platforms meet accessibility, privacy, and security standards, partnering with legal and IT teams as needed.
- Act as a key stakeholder for internal business tool improvements, operational communications, and other high-impact digital initiatives that enhance user experience and revenue generation.
- Adapt quickly as business needs evolve.
Qualified?
- 6+ years of experience in e-commerce, website management and mobile apps, preferably in sports, entertainment, or retail.
- 4+ years of experience working with Shopify Plus, with a proven track record of driving results.
- Proficiency in e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Salesforce) and CMS tools (e.g., Word Press).
