Location

Must be based in San Diego or Orange County, CA. This is a hybrid position, requiring you to work onsite at customer locations in Southern California area at least 1-2 days per week.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated hands-on Network Architect to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting network infrastructure for our clients. Additionally, you will provide sales support by assisting in the technical aspects of client proposals and presentations. This is a hybrid position, requiring you to work onsite at customer locations in the San Diego and other Southern California areas at least 1-2 days per week.

Duties
  • Design, deploy, and troubleshoot complex enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
  • Implement network security measures to protect data and systems.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their networking needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Assist the sales team with technical expertise during client meetings and proposal development.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation and diagrams.
  • Automate network tasks using Python and other scripting languages.
  • Create as-built documentation and provide over-the-shoulder training to customers for newly implemented solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest networking technologies and industry trends.
  • Create raving fans by delivering exceptional service to customers, coworkers, and partners.
Your Background

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Qualifications & Key Skills
  • 7+ years of experience in network engineering or a related role.
  • Proficiency in Python for network automation and scripting.
  • Strong understanding of all the layers of the OSI model.
  • Hands-on experience with network switches, routers, and wireless, including Cisco, Juniper, Meraki, and HPE/Aruba.
  • Hands-on experience with network security tools, including:
    • Firewalls:
      Design and configure (e.g., Cisco Firepower, Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
    • VPNs:
      Design and configure connections for remote access and site-to-site communication.
  • Experience with multicasting, including configuring and troubleshooting multicast routing protocols, multicast addressing and group management.
