Job Summary:

This role involves providing workstation replacement services for the Annual Information Services PC Refresh. The Field Support Technician will remove old workstations, install and configure new ones, and ensure functionality validation with users. This position requires technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong interpersonal skills to support both technical and non-technical personnel.

San Diego, California, United States

Responsibilities:

- Remove old workstations and install new workstations.
- Image and configure new workstations, including peripherals, software, and network printers.
- Validate functionality with users after replacement and assist with any issues.
- Perform wire management for ease of troubleshooting and user/equipment safety.
- Surplus old equipment according to departmental best practices.
- Resolve hardware, software, and networking issues of moderate scope and complexity.
- Plan and implement hardware and software upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and resolve or triage moderately complex network connectivity issues.
- Conduct hardware and software tests, analyze results, and produce reports.
- Develop and administer formal technical training to users.
- Document patient care and related duties appropriately.

Required Skills &

Certifications:

- Experience conducting escalated, broad technical support.
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as DHCP, TCP/IP, etc.
- Skill in configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting end-user client systems (desktop, laptop, mobile).
- Broad knowledge of enterprise system functions, dependencies, and interactions.
- Interpersonal skills for working with technical and non-technical personnel.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of desktop and business/technical support systems.

Preferred Skills &

Certifications:

- Experience developing and administering formal technical training to users at a variety of levels.
- Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.

Special Considerations:

- Refresh activities are typically conducted during non-peak business hours (afternoons, early mornings).

Scheduling:
- Contract Length: 16 weeks from start date

- Shifts:

Variable, contingent on department access availability.
- Shifts may begin as early as 07:00am and may begin as late as 11:30pm.
