Project/UnitDescription
A full-time, permanent position is available as a Research Program Analyst within the Command and Control Mission Assurance Division (C2MA) in the CIPHER Lab at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). C2MA develops cyber-resilient C4
ISR systems for tactical and operational environments. The Division designs, tests, and fields new technologies and architectures, including secure network enclaves, virtualization, multi-level security, and adaptive quality of service management. C2MA has around 100 employees providing analysis, research and development supporting mission-critical command and control systems and associated testing and development efforts. The team is distributed across multiple sites in the Atlanta area, with field offices in San Diego, Phoenix, Orlando, and Utah.
Purpose
The Systems Engineer oversees and coordinates the work of technical teams on systems projects, ensuring the successful design, implementation, operation, and technical management of those projects. Taking a holistic approach to systems engineering, the Systems Engineer ensures that all aspects of a system project are considered and addressed. The Systems Engineer works closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and then develops and documents technical requirements that meet those needs.
The Systems Engineer leads the design team in developing a system architecture that meets all of the requirements. After the system is designed, the Systems Engineer oversees the implementation of the system, working with the implementation team to ensure that it meets all of the requirements. Once the system is deployed, the Systems Engineer manages the technical aspects of the system, including monitoring performance, troubleshooting problems, and making improvements.
- Conduct top-down functional analysis and translate requirements into detailed performance design criteria
- Design and build templates to assist Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in providing critical system information
- Conduct product or system design synthesis translating requirements into physical architectures for systems of low…
