Cloud Compliance Engineer

University of California, Irvine is hiring a Cloud Compliance Engineer. This role involves independently administering and securing federally compliant research cloud environments on AWS, ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance, and addressing complex security challenges related to Controlled Unclassified Information and cloud workload onboarding.

• Administer and secure AWS cloud environments for federal research compliance.
• Maintain compliance with evolving regulatory and security requirements, including protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
• Hands-on experience with AWS services across compute, storage, networking, and IAM required.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation, and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef.
• Experience in system hardening, vulnerability management, and security remediation.
• Must create and maintain compliance documentation including System Security Plans and POA&Ms.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with technical and compliance personnel.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with at least 5 years administering AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Sys Ops Administrator or Solutions Architect Associate.
• Annual salary range approximately $111,300 to $161,200 with comprehensive benefits.
