We are seeking an Associate Attorney who is passionate about litigation, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to be a key player in significant consumer protection cases. Responsibilities
  • Pleadings & Discovery: Managing comprehensive written discovery, and preparing responses to complex discovery requests. Reviewing incoming discovery, meeting and conferring to obtain complete responses, and high-level analysis of when and how to proceed with motion practice to secure necessary evidence.
  • Motion Practice: Researching, drafting, and arguing a variety of motions, including discovery, dispositive, in limine motions, in state and federal court.
  • Case Management: Overseeing all aspects of litigation, including scheduling, meeting court deadlines, and maintaining meticulous case files.
  • Depositions: Preparing for and conducting and defending depositions of dealer technicians, plaintiffs, defendants  corporate representatives, and expert witnesses.
  • Client Communication: Maintaining regular, empathetic, and professional communication with clients to manage expectations and provide updates on case progress.
Qualifications Required
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited ranked law school.
  • Active membership and in good standing with the California Bar.
  • 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation preferred, with a strong preference for experience in consumer law or other plaintiff-side litigation.
  • Exceptional research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of cases and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Intellectual curiosity and self motivation.
  • Skilled in teamwork and communications.
Preferred
  • Prior experience specifically with Lemon Law (Song-Beverly, Magnuson-Moss, or other state-specific consumer protection statutes).
  • Experience with state and federal court litigation.
  • Familiarity with case management software.
