Legal Secretary – Litigation

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to support our litigation team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a fast-paced legal environment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and revise legal documents, correspondence, memoranda, and emails from written form and transcription.
- Assemble documents and exhibits for court filings, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, depositions, and other proceedings.
- Proofread materials to ensure accuracy, proper formatting, and adherence to firm standards.
- Manage incoming mail and emails, distributing appropriately.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and maintain attorney calendars, including critical deadlines.
- Utilize computer and transcription equipment to produce legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda.
- Coordinate travel arrangements for attorneys, including hotel, airline, and transportation bookings.
- Assist in preparing marketing materials such as pitch folders, attorney biographies, and presentations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma required; additional legal training preferred.
- Prior experience as a litigation legal secretary.
- Strong typing, reading, and writing skills; ability to proofread and edit documents accurately.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with document management systems such as iManage.
- Typing speed of at least 70 wpm.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workflow for multiple attorneys.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, vendors, and staff.
- Ability to operate office equipment including computers, transcription devices, fax machines, and advanced photocopier functions.
