Position DetailsLocation:
San Diego, CA
Full-time onsite position with a 9/80 schedule.
Responsibilities- Provide oversight of all contracts and new business capture efforts within the BU portfolio.
- Lead a team of geographically dispersed contract managers and professionals to deliver strong customer satisfaction, successful financial performance, and risk mitigation while ensuring proper contract acquisition and fulfillment.
- Partner with BU leadership to develop strategies for customer engagement, partnership and licensing arrangements, compliant proposals, profitable negotiations, and resolution of complex contracts issues.
- Serve as BU Manager, collaborating with the BU leadership team to develop strategies for customer engagement, partnership and licensing arrangements, compliant proposals, profitable negotiations, and complex contract issues resolution.
- Provide objective-oriented direction utilizing management guidelines and general policies while maintaining a high level of engagement and inspiring, motivating, and developing a team of managers and professionals.
- Build strong customer intimacy and employee engagement to assist with growing and sustaining business area.
- Work under general supervision while using sound judgment to develop creative solutions to routine and complex contractual matters while ensuring business unit compliance with customer requirements and company policies.
- Provide advice and counsel to senior leadership on contractual rights/obligations and interpretation of terms and conditions, risk assessment and mitigation, and cash management.
- Make decisions with speed, offer guidance and work collaboratively with a multitude of organizations ranging from technical, program, finance, supply chain, export and security.
- Successfully manage multiple moderately complex contracts and review and approve contract documents for protection of the company's contractual/risk posture, satisfaction of contractual requirements and adherence to company policies.
- Responsible for effective strategy, coordination, pricing, approval, submittal, and negotiation of complex proposals to achieve target profit goals as well as favorable terms and conditions.
- Administer, extend, negotiate, and terminate standard and nonstandard contracts and agreements.
- Serve as an example and mentor to direct reports, professionally lead and direct the daily activities of the contracts managers and professionals, delegate work assignments and ensure compliance, accuracy, and accomplish timely work assignment completion.
- BS/BA in Business, Finance, or related field; eight years of experience, or an MS Degree and six years of experience in contracts administration within an aerospace environment.
- Working knowledge of applicable government regulations, including the FAR and DFARS.
- Experience negotiating and administering various contract types of varying sizes and types of agreements with the DoD.
- Experience with proposal development and pricing, risk identification, contract negotiation, customer liaison, budgeting/cost control.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite of Applications.
- Experience managing people.
- The ability to travel domestically 25% of the time.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
- NCMA certification.
