Position Summary
The Production Assistant supports the production team with local deliveries and pickups 2-3 days a week, and assists with canning, kegging, and brewhouse cleaning on other scheduled days. This role emphasizes safe, efficient operations with minimal involvement in warehouse activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Delivery Focus (2-3 days a week):
Pick up and deliver products to Tasting Room locations daily; call and prepare delivery runs; load, unload, and operate a van safely. - Maintain safe operation and clean appearance by complying with company operational policies, procedures, and standards; operate and maintain vehicle in a safe and clean condition.
- Receive materials from North Park location and deliver to proper sites; load and unload trucks using a forklift.
- Make local deliveries and pickups; interface with shipping and receiving personnel to ensure timely deliveries, including pulling orders, receiving, and putting away product.
- Packaging & Cleaning Focus (Other Scheduled Days):
Assist in canning, kegging, and other packaging operations; clean and organize kegs and casks. - Clean the brewery facilities, including the brewhouse, tank exteriors, and floors; assist with maintenance and overall cleanliness of the production area.
- Maintain accurate and legible records for packaging and deliveries.
- Communicate with the public in our tasting room as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including occasional support for inventory control and quality assurance in packaging.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in a packaging brewery or distribution/supply role preferred; forklift experience required.
- Maintaining a good driving record.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Customer focus, dependability, teamwork, coordination, organization, time management, reporting skills, inventory control, documentation skills, equipment maintenance.
- Some computer skills preferred; data entry skills a plus.
- Knowledge of packaging SOPs; ability to recognize deviations from accepted practices.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize and organize workflow on a daily basis to accomplish required tasks.
- Punctuality; must be 21 years or older and able to work a flexible part‑time schedule (Tues/Wed for deliveries; other days for packaging/cleaning, approx. 2‑4 days/week depending on production needs).
- Ability to regularly lift, push, or pull up to 170 pounds.
The employee frequently uses hands or fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls; occasionally stands, walks, sits, reaches with hands and arms; climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee must be able to lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 170 pounds. The work environment is fast‑paced and demanding, with moderate to loud noise levels and outdoor exposure to weather elements.
