Electronics Assembler, Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
As an Electromechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for building both new and existing products, including up to five sub‑assemblies per week. You will spend most of your time in mechanical assembly, following work instructions and blueprints. You will also collaborate with the engineering team on custom assemblies. Your role includes assembling components, troubleshooting mechanical systems, and performing precision soldering on printed circuit boards.
Responsibilities- Build and assemble both new and existing products, including customer‑specific assemblies.
- Work from work instructions, blueprints, and occasionally collaborate with the engineering team on custom assemblies.
- Assemble components and troubleshoot mechanical systems using hand and power tools.
- Hand‑solder electronic components on PCBs in accordance with IPC‑J‑STD‑001 standards.
- Perform various assembly operations including precision soldering, assembling cables, and mechanical subsystems.
- Conduct in‑process inspections and connect and test units using test equipment.
- Compare test results with specifications, record test data, and evaluate and repair units as needed.
- 5 years of experience as an Electromechanical Technician.
- Expertise with blueprints and .001 tolerances.
- Proficiency in soldering, wiring, and using micrometers.
- Experience with small hand tools and mechanical assembly.
Skills & Qualifications
- R&D or Aerospace is preferred.
- Ability to check drawings, verify inaccuracies, and communicate findings.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and common reasoning ability.

Work EnvironmentThe work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional Saturday work once a month and some weekly overtime. Training will last up to a year due to the custom build nature of the role. The company is a small R&D‑focused environment where you will have your own workstation and collaborate closely with colleagues.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 – $26.00/hr.
