Job Description
As a Mill Machinist, you will operate CNC Mills in a dynamic machine shop environment. You will handle complex projects, machining high-temperature and exotic metals to meet customer specifications. Your role involves setting up, verifying, and operating 3rd, 4th, and 5th axis CNC mills to produce intricate parts.
Responsibilities- Set up, verify, and operate CNC mills to machine complex parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand product specifications.
- Monitor machine operations to detect any problems.
- Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications.
- Utilize HAAS control, DMG/MORI FANUC based control, and CELEOS X systems.
- Work with HAAS and DMG/MORI machines.
- 5 years of experience in machining and setup.
- Knowledge of CNC programming codes.
- Familiarity with cutting tool feeds and speeds.
- Ability to set up parts independently.
- Understanding of true position tolerance and Cartesian coordinate systems.
Skills & Qualifications
- Sound knowledge of feeds, speeds, and material removal process.
- Experience working to close tolerances in a high-volume environment.
- Proficiency in reading complicated blueprints.
- Experience with tight tolerances, plus or minus .0002.
- Job Boss experience is a plus.

Work EnvironmentThe position offers openings on the 2nd and 3rd shifts, with initial orientation and QMS training on the first shift for 2-4 weeks. You'll be collaborating with multiple departments, including tooling, saw cut and metal, quality, planning, and estimating. The facility provides a clean, professional shop environment where machinists are trusted to verify their work. Expect to work with modern CNC equipment and bring your own 6‑inch caliper and 1‑inch mic.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
