Mechanic​/Shipfitter

• Perform layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, operation, modification, repair and testing of components, materials and equipment.
• Inspect assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, scales and micrometers.
• Set up and operate soldering and welding equipment to join metal parts.
• Support removal and installation of foundations, cabling & cableways, equipment, sheet metal, ventilation systems, housings and a variety of C5I system components and their sub‑systems.
• Fabricate and assemble new or modified components or assemblies.
• Evaluate the form, fit and function of components and equipment for adherence to project objectives.
• Participate in special projects as required.
• Follow instructions and pre‑established guidelines to perform the job.

• High school diploma and a minimum of one year related experience.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, written or oral instructions and other technical documents.
• Must possess the basic tools of the trade.

• OSHA 10 certification (preferred).
