Position: PAINTER with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will prepare and apply various paints/proper finishes to process aircraft, aircraft engine structures, components, assembles, and/or sub-assemblies.
* You will apply sophisticated coating materials such as water base, elastomeric and low VOC materials to aircraft, components and ground support equipment; radiation reflecting coatings to cockpits and canopy enclosures.
* You will clean and prepare aircraft, engine and miscellaneous components and parts, by chemical, mechanical and sonic methods using various chemical solutions. Controls and maintains temperature consistency and effectiveness of the various solutions.
* You will use abrasive sandblasting equipment to clean, remove corrosion and other contaminants from parts and equipment.
* You will set-up equipment, selects the proper size of shot, and masks parts as required.
* You will perform solution analysis, makes chemical additions and inspects work in process and upon completion.
* You will operate various types of metal spraying equipment including plasma, thermo, and wire spray.
* You will apply coatings such as refractory ceramic coatings, exothermic materials, tungsten, carbide, nickel aluminide, nickel chrome alloys, spray silver, spray bronze, spray steel, spray aluminum and molybdenum. Requirements Conditions of employment

* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO PROVIDE PRODUCTION SUPPORT SERVICES
1) Reading and understanding specifications, sketches, blueprints, technical directives, manuals, and shop orders, to obtain information on surfaces to be coated. 2 Applying the proper methods and techniques of blasting such as distance of nozzle from surfaces, duration of blasting, angle of blast, and methods for positioning and holding work pieces.
3) Demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the setup and operation of shot peening cabinets and other equipment;
4) Proving ability to read and interpret engineering instructions and simple blueprints,
5) Demonstrating ability to test for proper time and pressure by means of Almen test strips. Must have knowledge of various aircraft metals to be shot peened, such as aluminum, steel, magnesium and titanium.
5) Skilled at using a variety of electrolytic and chemical processes to accomplish precision, protective, and decorative metallic or nonmetallic finishes on a wide array of metal and metal alloy objects.
