Non-Profit & Social Impact
This community cleanup will impact residents near the cleanup site and help disrupt the flow of trash into our lakes, rivers, creeks, and oceans. This impact affects both wildlife and humans in the City of Oceanside and beyond. This opportunity is great for community building and making new friends across the County!
Volunteers will arrive at the cleanup site to check in with ILACSD staff. After the educational and safety speech, ILACSD staff will help volunteers grab buckets, gloves, grabbers, and bags to start cleaning up the site. Some sites are more heavily littered than others, and volunteers will be cleaning for roughly two hours. Once a bucket or bag is full, volunteers head back to the starting point for ILACSD to sort and weigh the collected litter.
