Rancho Peñasquitos Farmers Market

Devoted to Youth hosts the Rancho Peñasquitos Farmers Market every Friday. The proceeds of the market go toward charities that support families and children, as well as food/donation drives. Devoted to Youth needs volunteers to run the market as smoothly as possible so that their small staff team can focus on making it a bigger weekly market.

Volunteers are needed to help with setting up, breaking down, and running the event.

• Event Set Up volunteers will be setting up the food booths, kids area, and helping vendors.
• Market Support volunteers will be taking food orders, cooking, managing the kids area, and helping vendors.
• Event Breakdown volunteers will be cleaning up food booths, breaking down food booths and kids areas, helping vendors, collecting tables, chairs, and umbrellas.

• No prior experience necessary.
• Volunteers should be comfortable outdoors, friendly, and able to follow instructions.
• Willingness to help in a team-oriented environment.
• Food booth volunteers should be comfortable around food prep.

On-site training provided at the beginning of the shift.

Comfortable clothing and a jacket, as it will get chilly. This opportunity takes place outdoors with plenty of shade.

Water. Devoted to Youth will provide food and non-alcoholic drinks.

Volunteers may lift 40 lbs or more, but being able to lift up to 40 lbs is not required to participate. This project can make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations by providing seating and sedentary tasks such as taking food orders, staffing the info booth, or supervising the kids area to ensure the children's safety. The space where this project takes place is wheelchair accessible.

Volunteers will be required to sign a waiver for Devoted to Youth when they arrive on site.

This event takes place rain or shine. It is only canceled in the event of especially inclement conditions.

The mission of Devoted to Youth Foundation is to help underprivileged youth and families in need. By listening to each individual, they give more than just a donation, they strive to provide opportunities, hope and the tools for those who want a better life.
