UC San Diego Health is a Magnet designated organization, which is a prestigious recognition that applies to only 10% of all U.S. hospitals. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients and delivering care during cardiac and peripheral vascular catheterization procedures. This role involves identifying and implementing nursing interventions and evaluates results for a wide variety of patient populations. The RN circulates or monitors diagnostic and interventional procedures for coronary, carotid, renal, and lower extremity cases. As the primary RN circulator, the nurse is responsible for patient care and accurate electronic documentation.
The position also includes directing and providing guidance to other healthcare team members as needed, promoting compliance and supporting policies. The RN also builds trust in professional collegial relationships while maintaining a compassionate and professional attitude. Additionally, this role supports an excellent AMI program.
Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge.
