UC San Diego Health is a Magnet designated organization, recognized for nursing excellence. The Clinic Nurse 2 (RN) will assess patients and deliver care during cardiac and peripheral vascular catheterization procedures. This role involves identifying and implementing nursing interventions, evaluating results for diverse patient populations, and acting as the primary RN circulator during coronary, carotid, renal, and lower extremity cases. The RN also directs other healthcare team members as needed, promotes compliance, and supports policies while providing compassionate care.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- RN License issued by the State of California.
- BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire; commitment to obtain ART within six months of hire.
- Minimum one year of recent acute care RN experience in Cardiac Cath Lab.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and external constituents.
- BSN/MSN.
- RCIS, CEN, or CCRN certification.
- Three or more years of recent cardiac cath lab RN experience.
- On call 5:30 pm – 7 am Monday‑Friday; 24‑hour call both Saturday and Sunday.
- Must be able to wear a lead apron.
- Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
- Employment subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.
Annual full pay range: $131,335 – $184,078 (prorated if appointment percentage
