Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in Urgent Care, the Licensed Vocational Nurse performs a wide variety of patient‑care activities in support of patient care. Responsibilities include prioritizing and assisting in triage, preparing and assisting with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, and providing patient education. The position requires initiative, the ability to prioritize critical demands, and the ability to work in a team environment.
Minimum Qualifications- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) issued by the state of California.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- Two (2) years of demonstrated LVN experience in direct patient care.
- Strong skills in accurately taking and recording vital signs, height, and weight; administering medication, including injections; interviewing patients; and collecting and/or testing specimens.
- Knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.
- Able to care for medically complex acute patients in collaboration with registered nurses.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands, exercise independent judgment, and work in a team environment.
- ACLS and/or ART.
- IV Certification.
- Registration Experience.
- Experience in emergency department, urgent care, and/or express care.
- Point‑of‑care testing (POCT) experience.
- Proficiency in emergency interventions and procedures such as wound care, splinting, IV insertion, EKG, medication administration, and emergency response.
- Strong clinical assessment skills, including the ability to quickly and accurately assess patients with a wide range of acute conditions such as injuries, infections, and chronic disease flare‑ups.
- Availability to work weekends.
- Must be able to work based on business needs.
- Minimum 4 – 6 shifts a month (once‑a‑week availability, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays).
- This position may float to other locations as needed.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and a pre‑employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $86,736 – $86,736 (prorated if appointment < 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $41.54 – $41.54
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

If applicable, life‑support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands‑on practice and in‑person skills assessment; online‑only certification is not acceptable.
