RN Nurse Manager - La Jolla Inpatient

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Nurse Manager for the Jacobs Medical Center Operating Room. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing, be a Registered Nurse in the state of California, and have at least 7 years of relevant experience, including 5 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in an acute care hospital.

The Nurse Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, controlling, and organizing comprehensive, safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. This includes coordinating daily operations and clinical practice, establishing and maintaining standards of care and unit policies and procedures, and demonstrating behaviors that model UCSD Health's core values and mission statement.

The position requires strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to problem-solve and think critically. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes, as well as proven hospital management skills and experience with disaster incidents and sentinel events.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain 24-hour accountability for planning, managing, controlling, and organizing comprehensive, safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
• Coordinate daily operations and clinical practice of the assigned service areas.
• Establish and maintain standards of care and unit policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate behaviors that model UCSD Health's core values and mission statement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of California.
• 7+ years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in an acute care hospital.
• Recent leadership experience and proven hospital management skills.
• Knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Nursing or relevant area.
• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) or Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM).
• 3+ years of recent supervisory or management experience in a large, adult academic hospital.
• 2+ years of CVOR RN experience.
