Experience with magnesium sulfate postpartum care

Description:

Experience with high-risk obstetric patients and magnesium sulfate postpartum care is required. The nurse will care for patients with various diagnoses including vaginal and cesarean deliveries, preeclampsia, diabetes, and hyperbilirubinemia. Patient ratios are typically 1:4. The nurse will be expected to float rotationally between similar units as needed, including labor and delivery for recoveries and the NICU for assistance with feeding, soothing, and changing babies.

The unit provides interdisciplinary support from respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Daily census is approximately 16 patients. All candidates must be flexible in scheduling. Commitment to working three out of five holidays is required. References covering one year within the last three years are required. Travelers may be expected to float between facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment.
