Position descriptionThe Department of Radiation Medicine and Applied Sciences within the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, is committed to academic excellence and seeks Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientists to join the Advani Lab. The Project Scientists will contribute to a research project in their discipline. Under supervision of the Principal Investigators, the Project Scientists will function independently, and the role includes:
- designing, managing, and conducting experiments;
- training and teaching students and others in the field;
- leading and making innovative contributions to the project(s);
- participating and presenting at scientific meetings;
- writing scientific reports, manuscripts, and grants for submission and/or publication.

QualificationsBasic qualifications (required at time of application):
Candidates must have a PhD in cancer biology or related disciplines, an MD or equivalent, or an MD/PhD, and 1+ years of demonstrated experience in DNA damage assays, radio sensitization studies, and mouse tumor modeling. At least 1+ relevant co-authored publications in a peer-reviewed journal.
Preferred qualifications
: 2+ years of postdoctoral experience including pre-clinical studies involving radiation.
