San Diego, US
Location:
University of California, San Diego (Department of Pathology)
Start date:
Flexible, 2025
The Raju Lab at UC San Diego seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to investigate how viruses engage the mammalian immune system. Our group studies host–pathogen interactions
, B cell immunity
, and viral entry mechanisms using emerging RNA viruses as model systems.
Projects integrate molecular virology
, immunology
, and structural biology to define viral determinants of host range, dissect B cell and antibody responses, and map virus–receptor or virus–antibody interfaces. Approaches include reverse genetics, reporter virus systems, high‑dimensional flow cytometry, single‑cell and repertoire sequencing, and cryo‑EM collaborations.
- Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Virology, Immunology, or related field.
- Experience with molecular cloning, cell culture, or immunologic assays.
- Strong record of productivity and enthusiasm for mechanistic science.
UCSD offers exceptional resources for molecular virology and immunology, with access to BSL‑2 facilities, Cytek spectral flow cytometry, structural biology, and proteomics cores. The lab emphasizes rigorous, creative, and collaborative science with individualized mentorship and career development.
