The Research Assistant will be involved in immunology oncology research, encompassing responsibilities such as maintaining the flow cytometer, mouse husbandry, assisting with molecule and cell biology experiments, and participating in in vivo murine tumor model studies. Working under general supervision, the individual will conduct research independently and in collaboration with others. This may include performing experiments, interpreting and analyzing results, troubleshooting methods and procedures, and contributing to experimental design.

Other related duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

Physical requirements:

This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

• Maintain the flow cytometer, mouse husbandry, assist with molecule and cell biology experiments, and participate in in vivo murine tumor model studies. Conduct research independently and in collaboration with others. Perform experiments, interpret and analyze results, troubleshoot methods and procedures, and contribute to experimental design. Other related duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in biology or chemical biology, cell biology, immunology or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained.
• Requires 1-3 years experience. Candidates possessing a Master’s degree, 0-2 years experience required.
• Experience with murine models and training in multi-color flow cytometry and mouse disease models are essential.

The expected hiring range for this position is $20.67 to $25.06 per hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
