The Medicinal Chemistry Scientist supports scientific research and development activities within a medicinal chemistry function. This role contributes to the planning and execution of studies and experiments, scientific data review, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate applies sound scientific judgment while working within established procedures, quality practices, and project priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of medicinal chemistry studies, experiments, analyses, and related technical activities.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain protocols, laboratory records, data summaries, reports, and other scientific documentation.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze scientific data and information to support project decisions and team deliverables.
  • Coordinate samples, materials, timelines, vendors, and internal resources required to complete assigned activities.
  • Apply established scientific methods, procedures, and quality practices to promote consistent and reliable results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate findings, resolve technical issues, and support project objectives.
  • Identify technical issues and document observations, results, and relevant findings.
  • Contribute recommendations for process, study, or workflow improvements based on scientific observations and data.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant scientific literature, methodologies, and best practices applicable to medicinal chemistry activities.
  • Communicate scientific findings and project updates effectively to technical and cross-functional audiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Relevant experience supporting or conducting scientific, technical, laboratory, research, or medicinal chemistry-related activities.
  • Working knowledge of scientific methods, study execution, data analysis or review, and scientific documentation practices.
  • Ability to organize and interpret scientific data, summarize findings, and document observations accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow established procedures and quality practices.
  • Sound scientific judgment and ability to identify and communicate technical issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
